This golden week my family and I visited my wife’s parents in Saga.
It has been a while since we last met and my daughters, especially my younger daughter, have grown a lot. My wife’s parents were very happy to see them. We even got to celebrate my older daughters fifth birthday while we were there.
Although Covid levels are still elevated and there is some risk to travel, we thought it is important to make a trip this soon. Unfortunately my wife’s grandma is getting older and her health is starting to wane. We want to see her as much as possible while she can still appreciate her great grand children.
There were two unfortunate events that happened this golden week.
Originally, my wife’s older sister and her kids were also coming as well. I really like seeing them as our kids are similar ages. They have so much fun playing together. But, they’re older son tested positive for Covid! He has no symptoms but obviously they couldn’t make the trip. I was very disappointed.
The other issue we had was on the airplane. My older daughter gets motion sickness very easily so traveling is always hard. This time was no exception. My older daughter was uncomfortable and anxious the whole trip. She didn’t throw up like usual which was very fortunate. Instead my younger daughter, who has never had a problem before, suddenly and unexpectedly threw up in the middle of the flight. It was hard… I guess we have to watch them both carefully from now.
