Today was my first day at my new job.
Usually I get very nervous about first days, interviews, unknown places, etc. I was surprised at how little nervousness I had leading up to today. Or at least that is what I thought. The nervousness finally came as I put on my suit this morning.
My new job is at a Japanese company so, of course, everything is spoken and written in Japanese. I’m not really nervous about that.
I will start work as an Android application developer. It is a totally new type of work for me and I have so much to learn. I’m not really nervous about that either.
Why am I nervous then? I guess change is always hard for me. I feel so uncomfortable meeting new people too.
Even though I was nervous, my first day was totally fine. Everyone was very nice and helpful.
There is still so much to learn. I am looking forward to the day when I have settled in and can really start work programming again. Until then, just take it one step at a time.
