Sometimes I get hurt.
Usually I am a careful person but, accidents still happen. The times I got hurt are still very vivid memories for me.
In elementary school I was playing dodge ball with my friends. I made an amazing play and caught a fast dangerous ball. Unfortunately, the ground was very slippery and my feet slid out from underneath me. I fell face first to the ground and chipped a tooth.
There was another time I was climbing rocks at the beach. I was climbing up some big boulders but I couldn’t quite reach up to the next rock. I was sure I could reach if I just jump a little. Unfortunately, I was wrong. I fell a few feet backwards onto the rocks below. I landed on the edge of a big boulder and I got a big scrape all the way up my back.
Well, this last weekend it happened again! Nothing that bad. I twisted my ankle. I was at the park with my family. I was walking on a grassy hill and suddenly my foot rolled over just as I put my weight on it. I didn’t fall over but my ankle hurt and I could barely walk. Somehow, I managed to walk home with my family and get some ice on my ankle.
That was a couple days ago. I can walk normally now but, my foot is still swollen and tender to the touch. I hope it will be back to normal soon. I should probably learn something from this mistake but, I doubt I will.
