My Bread Machine Died and I am very sad.
I have a bread machine. I really love the smell, and taste, of freshly baked bread. I usually made bread a few times a week for breakfast.
Unfortunately, A few months ago the machine broke. It turned off and never turned back on. I inspected it and I found the likely culprit. A loose wire in the plug.
Although I understood how to fix it, I have no tools, or parts, and i kept putting it off. One day my wife asked me what we should do. I guess a couple months was enough procrastinating. I said I could probably fix it but… I was unsure of myself.
My wife checked online and found out how much it would cost to fix. It was expensive! The price for the manufacturer to repair it would be half the price of a new machine! After that, we decided we don’t really need a bread machine. We had lived without one for a while. We would be fine. We could just 'sell' the broken machine as junk on Mericari.
However, I felt uncomfortable. If we throw it away, I might as well try to see if i could fix it first. I can break something that is already broken! I searched online again and this time I found just the right part I needed to fix it. I wouldn't even need any special tools. I ordered it and it arrived the next day.
It was a little scary a first but, I chopped off the old plug with wire cutters, stripped the wires down with my Swiss Army knife, and attached the new plug head.
I plugged it into the wall and... it worked! The bread machine lives again. Now, I have made bread a few times with no problems. It is delicious!
In the end it cost 92 yen and 3 minutes of work to fix. I probably should have fixed it sooner.
